Traffic signboards play an important role in assuring safety for innocent travellers proceeding along the concerned routes.
However, whenever they develop defects of one sort or the other, vehicular traffic gets confronted with great danger. Mishaps are likely to occur sooner or later thereby resulting in adverse consequences.
Vehicle riders would either get seriously injured and at times may even lose their precious lives on the spot in case of major head injuries.
A case in point is a damaged traffic signboard in the vicinity of Civil Court at Tisk in Ponda. The same is totally useless and is unable to serve its basic purpose.
In the initial stages, it was installed for depicting existence of a speed-breaker at this area. The traffic cell in Ponda should take a note of this and arrange replacement of the damaged signboard so that safety is assured to vehicular traffic on a permanent basis.
Let us hope that swift positive action would follow in the interest of innocent travellers.
