Kannada Sahitya Parishad President Siddhana Meti while speaking at the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in Sancoale has urged political parties to stop addressing Kannadigas settled in Goa as 'ghantis' as he claims that his community has contributed significantly to Goa's politics by even citing the election of Anusha Lamani as Sancoale Sarpanch. Well, the only contribution of the Kannadigas here is that many have successfully gone to construct their own illegal houses/huge structures on comunidade land in different parts of the state over the years by even bribing some panch members (which include local MLAs) from local panchayats. Yes, they have full right to come here to work as Indian citizens through their own hard effort but have no right to mess up with Goa and Goans. And last but not the least, they should first tell the government of Karnataka to reserve one seat for a Goan in their own home-state to contest in their assembly elections and then demand one seat for a Kannadiga here to contest for Goa Assembly seat in future.
