Our CM has launched the ‘Karmayogi Adhikaris’ to guide Goans on government schemes under the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampoorna Goy replacing the Gramsevak with Karmayogi Adhikari.
No doubt it is a good initiative, but without any incentive being paid to the departmental staff, the enthusiasm will soon die.
It is understood that these officers will be moving in all panchayats /municipal councils. But the people who will be visiting the offices for their personal work will be left unattended as the officer will not be in his seat. The government should therefore mark days when these officials will be present for routine work.
With the new initiative, the question that comes to mind is what happens to the role of the elected panchayat member? These programmes should have been conducted during the special gram sabha but the gram sabhas have become a mere formality.
