It is learnt that the state government has stepped in with multiple measures to tackle traffic snarls on roads around school campuses across North Goa by notifying areas where stopping vehicles will be banned, roads designated as one-ways and diversion of heavy vehicles to alternate routes. It must be said that the scene on the roads outside the schools is absolutely chaotic in the morning when school starts and when classes are over and children return to their homes. This is a problem not only around school campuses across North Goa but throughout the State. Besides initiating multiple measures to tackle the issue it must be said the most effective way would be for parents to make use of the school bus to transport their children. Most households in the state own one or more cars. Hence they use their private vehicle to drop their children to school and to bring them back home. Using the school bus instead of private vehicles will also reduce the number of vehicles on the roads. Schools should have enough buses for their students. The buses should collect children even from remote places. Some people may have an ego problem and could probably consider sending their children by the school bus not in keeping with their social stature and hence use their private vehicle. Use of the school bus will reduce the traffic snarls outside school campuses to a great extent.
