It won’t be wrong to say that in Goa one can expect the unexpected. It is learnt that a trailer truck in custody of the police at the Old Goa police station was reportedly stolen. The trailer truck in question had previously been involved in an accident on September 5, resulting in substantial damages amounting to Rs 4 lakh, as it crashed into a shed in Corlim. Following the accident, Old Goa police had taken possession of the truck, given its inoperable condition, and parked it in an open space by the roadside. The truck's driver had reportedly been entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding the vehicle until further court orders were issued. However, it was observed that the truck had mysteriously vanished from its parking spot. In response, the authorities registered a complaint with the State. The police located the dismantled truck and initiated further inquiries into the incident. A Chimbel resident has been arrested in the case. The case is reportedly under investigation. The truck was obviously towed away. If a trailer truck which is not in working condition can be stolen then God save us from thieves.
