Of late, the crime graph in the State is showing a steep spike with a number of cases being reported on a daily basis.
These cases are not just petty crimes but serious ones. Goans had not heard of anyone firing in the air in a robbery bid that was reported in Mapusa.
So also, there was this incident of touts harassing tourists by beating them up and robbing their belongings.
There seems to be no fear of law or the police among the accused who are carrying out their activities unhindered.
The recent statement of our CM that police need to crackdown on landlords who don’t fill the tenant varication forms, needs to be welcomed.
Goans should be alert and not rent out their premises to outsiders without proper verification.
Stringent action needs to be taken against the accused so that peace in our State is not shattered.
