Smart Sanquelim: Vision turning into reality

As a local from Sanquelim, I feel truly grateful for the remarkable transformation our town is undergoing under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Just yesterday at the Sanquelim municipality event, he shared that 80% of his planned development for our area has already been completed, with the remaining 20% set to finish in the next six months. This kind of clear vision and steady progress is exactly what Sanquelim has longed for over the years.

From the Ravindra Bhavan in Sanquelim to the new bus stand, and from KG to PG and PhD-level education with top institutes right here in our periphery ” it’s all thanks to his forward-thinking approach. Infrastructure has seen massive upgrades: the Harvalem to Sanquelim hospital stretch, ongoing road expansions, and beautification from Harvalem Supachi Pud to CHC Sanquelim ” these are making life easier for everyone, especially shop owners and daily commuters.

He’s personally focused on restoring the Sanquelim Fort, building a pump house for Valvanti to end long-standing water issues for locals and market dwellers, and planning for the Sanquelim Market with better internal roads. His ideas to boost footfall and generate more revenue for our local businesses are truly golden, but they’ll succeed only if we all cooperate.

On human resource development, initiatives like the Goa Institute of Skill & Technology in Sanquelim, the AIC Incubation at GIM, and efforts through the Padmini Foundation to promote Swayampurna Rojgar for Sankhlekars show his commitment to our people’s growth.

Despite his busy schedule, CM Sawant gives detailed, personal attention to our needs. Sanquelim is finally getting the smart, all-round development it deserves. Thank you, CM ” we locals are proud and deeply appreciative.

A bridge for true Goan unity

The recent remarks by Adv. Radharao Gracias questioning the myth of Goan unity and urging parents to demand Romi Konkani in schools deserve serious reflection. Goa’s history itself shows that our community has never been monolithic. The Opinion Poll was a stark reminder that Goans were divided on fundamental questions of identity, and unity cannot be assumed ” it must be built through respect for diversity.Romi Konkani is not merely a script; it is the living cultural…
