There is a perception that the government does not care and heed to the voice of the people. But this should not deter us from expressing our views and articulating our thoughts on issues concerning society.
Despite the government being deaf and dumb, we cannot and should not remain mere spectators to the ills facing the society. After all, the Government has a fundamental duty to protect, support and serve the best interests of the people.
Debate and discussion on topics of social importance are vital for the functioning of democracy, which now our great country is ebbing away from.
While we express our views, we should respect those of others and that leads to a healthy debate maintaining decorum which strengthens the will of the people.
By speaking out publicly it also helps create public awareness on issues affecting the society. We need to encourage the youth in particular with this thought-provoking process so that they can analyze the issues at hand and be a force for positive change.
