The surprise visit by the Health Minister Viswajit Rane to the Mapusa district hospital trying to check how the staff is performing was interesting. He pulled up many of the staff for their careless attitude towards patients. The decision to look into the services of the day care nurses in the hospitals is very much appreciated. While he doubles as a TCP and Forest Minister, my sincere appeal to the Minister is to also visit the sites before allowing the land conversion that is taking place on lands that they have been marked in the regional plan as erroneous. The TCP and Forest departments have a very important role to play in saving the environment and biodiversity of this state which was left by our ancestors to ungrateful descendants who are now selling to the real estate land sharks. I hope the Supreme Court remarks "don't turn Goa into a concrete jungle" has reached your TCP, Forest Dept and the so called expert panelists who blindly pass such huge land conversions. I request the TCP Minister to begin the process for the new regional plan despite so many litigations.
