Sonsodo menace: CM should take lead in finding solution

It is sad to see that the mountain of Sonsodo garbage is not coming down despite spending cores of rupees from the taxpayers' money.

During the rainy season, the authorities spent money on tarpaulin to cover it, build the boundary wall and give the contract to a contracting company to solve the issue.

Recently garbage was spilt on the Sonsodo road, which was unsafe for traffic and many people met with accidents on that Spot. The politicians are involved in only drama and blame games to fool the people of Margao, Fatorda, Raia and Maina Curtorim.

Where has the taxpayers' money gone and it's in whose pocket? Every single MLA and minister knows about this notorious issue but till now it has not been resolved.

The motorists using the Sonsodo road and the people staying in the vicinity are suffering a lot from the horrible stench which is affecting their health, safety and the environment. They are breathing the unsafe air and their lives are at risk. It is not just affecting children and animals but also polluting the water bodies.

The MLAs and Margao civic officials present and past know about the situation but come together to only make money in the name of garbage-reducing plans.

It is imperative that all the legislators led by the Chief Minister find a solution to this never-ending public menace which is becoming worse day by day. Let the people breathe fresh air, which is a gift from God.
