Special assembly session on jobs-for-cash scam needed

It must be said that the jobs-for-cash scam is growing bigger by the day. More and more people involved in the job scam are falling in the police dragnet. Several people including the poor have fallen prey to the  scam and have lost lakhs of rupees. This is probably the biggest scam that has hit the state. The government had said that no elected representative is involved in the scam. However the opposition parties and activists have called for a judicial probe into the matter. On the one hand there is the jobs-for-cash scam and on the other hand there is increasing unemployment. The estimated unemployment rate in Goa is 8.7 which is double of the rate in India which is 4.2. Given the magnitude of the jobs scam and the number of people who have fallen prey to it, it appears that a special session of the Goa Legislative Assembly seems necessary to discuss the matter in totality. The investigation of the jobs scam needs to be taken to its logical conclusion and all those who have lost their hard-earned money need to be compensated.
