Stern action needed to clean Calangute of dance bars

This is with reference to dance bars in Calangute village. The Sarpanch and the Secretary along with ward members conducted site inspection during night hours after 11.00 pm and immediately served notice for closure of all dance bars in Calangute. The operators were given a show cause notice for closure of these premises for looting the tourist meaning that the tourist was overcharged for service A to Z provided. The BDO stayed the closure order for lack of evidence. The Sarpanch in public interest issued demolition order to 8 dance bars. The DOP has stayed the demolition due to natural justice until proven that operation of dance bars are carried out in illegal constructions. Certainly these so called ‘dance bars” are operating under Trade Licence and with consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 and Water Act, 1974 from GSPCB, if not the Sarpanch should approach the Bombay High Court at Goa to seek demolition order of these illegal structures and  if the High Court upholds  the order of the BDO ; the Sarpanch  may approach the Supreme Court against the DOP order in civil appeal  to clean up Calangute from the menace of  dance bars.
