Stop cutting trees and turning Panaji into desert

The 200-year old banyan tree which was felled for the ongoing smart city work at St Inez despite strong protests held by green activists has now been reportedly translocated at the premises of football ground at Campal on Sunday. Well, it looks like that the Smart City officials have stubbornly carried out this most stupid exercise with the sole intention of somehow turning all green activists who were protesting to protect this particular tree into fools in Goa. Now, how can these extra over-smart people of the smart city project (which includes some officers from the Forest Department) expect this banyan tree to spring back to life after re-planting it at a fully open space at Campal ground in the hot sun? I think that the officials who have re-planted it to play a bigger joke on those fighting to save trees should be taken to task immediately by the High Court to henceforth stop them from butchering more of such trees under flimsy excuses & turning Panaji into one hot desert in Goa.
