It was really heart breaking to see how the Soccoro panchayat officials went about to demolish the house of a niz Goemkar thereby creating tension in the locality.
There are so many houses built without any NOC across the State but nobody bothers to act against them.
The question that comes to mind is how do these houses get house numbers, water and electricity connections if they are illegal? Isn’t the government responsible for this?
The same was the case in Verna where the authority came to demolish the house of a niz Goemkar the direction of political mafia. In the Soccorro case too, there definitely must have been political pressure to demolish the house.
The controversial Old Goa bungalow is still standing strong despite opposition from one and all and the case is now lingering in court.
Shame on our corrupt system and the men in uniform who are the first to act in these cases and the last to save and protect the citizens of our country.
