At the Adpai village in Ponda, stray cattle tend to be a serious menace proving dangerous to innocent travellers and pedestrians alike. With cattle proceeding along the road at different spots, two-wheeler riders tend to be the worst sufferers. Mishaps are bound to occur in the process thereby leading to adverse consequences. What is rather strange is the fact that cattle occupy the entrance area at the premises of village panchayat Adpai-Durbhat during night. Presence of cow dung the next morning justifies this particular fact. The concerned lady sweeper engaged in brooming this premises do not clear the existing cowdung in toto. At times, even empty plastic bottles have been noticed inside the adjacent drain and also over the corner. Hence the concerned senior officials at this VP must instruct the sweeper accordingly. Over the years, the bovines have been troubling innocent travellers and pedestrians proceeding along the main road. I sincerely request the higher officials at the Directorate of Panchayats to take a serious note of above sensitive matter and issue necessary circular to all the VPs in the state which have not initiated any positive steps in building the much needed cattle pounds and subsequent impounding of cattle. Let us hope that this competent authority would take prompt action in the matter.
