Streetlights along Adpai jetty need attention

I would like to bring to the attention of Power MinisterNilesh Cabral the pitiful state of streetlights along the Adpai jetty in Ponda.Repeatedly, the fixtures have been noticed in a neglected state of affairs.Even the elected representatives at the local village panchayat - the VP ofAdpai-Durbhat - who are supposed to work in the interest of local populationfailed to initiate favourable steps in this regard from time to time. At timessome fixtures are found missing, some exists in a misplaced condition and a fewnon-working during the night. As on June 2 at 8 pm, two fixtures were foundmissing over the streetlight poles. One fixture was found non-functional andanother in a faulty position. Errors of this sort need to be attended onpriority basis. But as far as this important jetty is concerned travellers andpedestrians proceeding from the Adpai jetty towards the main road during thenight time face great inconvenience due to the existing darkness at some spots.I sincerely request the Power Minister to arrange a surprise visit at thisparticular jetty during late evening or night time to get acquainted with theprevailing situation along this stretch of the road. I hope the Minister takesup this matter seriously and instruct the Electricity department in Ponda to dothe needful in public interest.
