Strong action needed against derogatory remarks

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, in response to protests against self-proclaimed activist Shreya Dhargalkar and her arrest for hurting religious sentiments, stated that his government will no longer tolerate such activities. He has warned of strong action against those making irresponsible statements about religion on social media.

It’s evident that there are numerous hate-mongers posting derogatory remarks against others’ gods and religions, especially targeting Catholics and their beliefs, including ‘Goencho Saib’, on social media in Goa. When will the government address this issue as a top priority?

I hope CM Sawant follows through on his promise (though I have doubts due to political pressures) and directs the cybercrime cell to track down and arrest these communal elements and hate-mongers who use fake IDs to spread derogatory remarks about others’ gods and religions. This is essential for preserving Goa’s centuries-old communal harmony for future generations. Long live Hindu-Christian-Muslim unity in Goa. Down with communal hatred. Viva Goenkaar!
