The annual Sunburn EDM is making waves not only in Goa but the whole world. People from a wide spectrum throng Goa for this annual festival.
Every year the festival used to be held from December 28 to 30. But this year the organizers extended the date by one more day up to December 31. This infuriated the locals who urged the government to cancel permission for the last day.
December 31 is a day when hotels, restaurants, clubs and other small businessmen make a lot of business as tourists throng the State. December 31 is also a day when Christians throng churches for midnight masses. Having a big festival on December 31 will not only affect the businessmen but also have a big effect on the local economy. Apart from this, there is total traffic chaos with tourists zooming in all directions throwing caution to wind.
The government must be applauded for listening to the voice of the people and directing Sunburn organizers not to hold the festival on December 31.
