The Fisheries Minister in his recent reply in the Assembly said that to provide subsidised fish to Goans through mobile vans a central scheme is needed.
This is a typical bureaucratic kind of response of a roundabout way to say No. Why is Central support required to provide fish, an item of their daily diet, at subsidised rates to Goan?
Does the Goa government not have sufficient funds to meet this need?
Goans pay their taxes and therefore deserve support from the government for an item like fish which is their staple diet.
The government has money to spend for all kinds of things but not to give subsidised fish to its own people. For every small thing the State government cannot go to the Centre.
The BJP concept of Double Engine government does not mean the local engine can go to sleep.
