Given the fact that the government has been unable tokeep its promise of making the roads of Goa ‘pothole-free’, will theauthorities at least ensure that our roads are free of cattle and stray dogs? The alarming number of stray cattle on the roads across Goa including thehighways is a matter of great concern and should be dealt with on priority. Thegrave menace of stray dogs which today has reached alarming levels plaguingevery nook and corner of the State is also very worrisome. As taxpayers, the publichas the right to expect roads and streets to be free from the nuisance ofstraying cattle and stray dogs. How many more people will need to die onaccount of accidents caused by stray cattle and dogs besides rabies? Thegovernment needs to tackle this issue with urgency so that people can walk onthe streets and travel on the roads without any hindrance.
