The Osia commercial arcade in Fatorda is perhaps the most ill-maintained building in Margao city. With dogs roaming the corridors, the stench of urine, paan/gutka stains, leaky pipes, stagnant water during monsoons providing a breeding ground for mosquitoes, non-functional lifts, garbage heaped in passage corners, and encroachment of circulation space by restaurants and shops, it easily qualifies as the worst complex in all of Goa.
Lately, establishments undertaking renovations heap debris right by the roadside, which is not disposed of for weeks altogether. Vehicles and pedestrians are at risk, but neither the building association nor the municipality seems to be bothered. Will things ever improve?
