A speed breaker at Khandola area in Priol constituency has become dangerous for motorists. The road was constructed during Priol constituency MLA Deepak Dhavalikar’s tenure, but the speed breaker was constructed to take credit for so-called development work. There is no alternative road, so motorists are bound to cross this stretch where the dangerous speed breaker exists. The contractor, who was assigned the job of putting up the speed breaker, certainly seems to have no knowledge of road works.
The vehicle owners pay road and other taxes to the government, but the authorities such as the PWD seem to be misusing the taxpayers’ money in building such kind of dangerous speed breakers. This dangerous hump on the road has led to many minor and serious accidents. For motorists, who are new on this road, this speed breaker is a death trap. The Collector must take cognisance of this dangerous speed breaker and clear it on an urgent basis before any eventuality occurs.
