After the legislation of the three farm laws, the farmers of India went on mass protest against the same laws which ultimately after their repeal had already claimed the lives of more than 700 farmers. In a case such as this, who is responsible for causing to allow more deaths to take place, when the toll could have been reduced by repealing of the laws much earlier? Normally whosoever is the one who takes credit for enactment of a law should also take the blame for a law that affected and was stoutly resisted until its ultimate repeal happened. In this case, it should be stressed that the one who announced the repeal should be held to have been complicit in allowing the toll to reach the figure of more than 700 and thus should be held responsible for not having repealed the same earlier and thus should face the due process of the law like any other citizen of India. Can the party that he belongs to use the ED, CBI, Income Tax authorities and the NIA to probe and jail leaders of parties only because they are pro-active political opponents? If we are a democratic country, then every citizen big and small should be treated with the same yardstick, without fear or favour.
