It is reported that minister of state for finance Bhagwat Karad told our CM to make Goa a zero cashless state in three months. The minister has surely forgotten the after-effects of the sudden implementation of demonetisation -- the terrible suffering, even resultant deaths the people had to endure. Cashless sounds good on paper, but the ground realities are different. Even bank managers and customers are frustrated due to slow internet connection. Even computer-savvy citizens find it difficult to carry out transactions. People have only one life to live and the government is continuously making it hell by thoughtless hasty fiats and ordinances without discussion in Parliament resulting in pain for people in the time of Covid.
