Tourists treat rented vehicles with disdain

Of late several videos have been appearing on Social Media of how domestic tourists misuse the cars and bikes hired from car and bike rentals. In a couple of such videos doing the rounds, tourists are seen dancing on the bonnet and the roof of the rented car. A photograph that has gone viral shows tourists drying their clothes by putting them on the car. If the clothes are wet due to sea water it will definitely cause damage to the car body.   In the past tourists were seen driving the car onto the beach which are ultimately stuck in the water or the beach sand. Most of these are probably rented vehicles. The salt water will damage the engine. The other day a rented SUV which was being driven at a high speed went off the road and fell into the field. Tourists treat the vehicles with disdain because they know they have nothing to lose if the vehicle is damaged. Police need to take strict action against such tourists if there is a complaint filed by the vehicle owner for damage caused to the vehicle.
