Transfer of priests: Not one criterion!

These days transfers of parish clergy is a hot topic in the mass media, and many have lent their voice to it. The common denominator of the writings is that there should be uniformity in effecting transfers. 

Some few should not be given preference over those not enjoying patronage.

Exception has been taken, against granting extension to some and denying the same to others, though Covid, which is invoked, makes no such distinction. Where the pandemic makes no distinction, neither should the authority make one. 

Hope better sense prevails.
