Trying desperately for votes from Tamil Nadu

As the election day draws closer, Modi throws caution to the winds and says anything he likes without a care for the consequences that his words may have. His statement the other day in Hindi saying - "We will go into their houses and beat them up". He was probably referring to the terrorists crossing from Pakistan and striking in Kashmir but the statement is quite open ended and can mean anything. It is not only Pakistan but by raising Katchatheevu island for some minimal fishermen votes in Tamil Nadu, Modi and co. are treading on the corns of Sri Lanka. That country has diplomatically responded and with restraint that the Katchatheevu island issue is closed. With all our immediate neighbours now we have difficult relationships, like in Bangladesh there was a call recently to boycott Indian goods while in Nepal also there is not much love lost for India. With China, our biggest neighbour we all know the troubled times that we are going through. Thus it would been better to maintain the status quo  with our neighbouring countries and not muddy the waters for some marginal votes.
