Universities are called temples of education. But our Goa University has let our Goan brothers and sisters down. As reported on 10 July 2025, Goa University organised its annual cultural programme where male students were made to parade on stage in their underwear during a competition called ‘Third Degree’ in front of female students.
In the name of a cultural programme, such a shameful parade was held. Frankly, what type of culture is this? Only one question comes to my mind: is this really our Indian culture?
I request the university to remember that it is a place where high-level education is provided, where students prepare for higher degrees. Let us all come together and make our university a true temple of education.
