With the Assembly elections approaching, politicians are making unrealistic promises of government jobs to win votes. However, such assurances are merely election tactics and rarely fulfilled. While many aspire for government jobs, few parents want their children to study in government schools, highlighting a troubling disconnect in our society’s priorities. The government continues to raise prices of petrol, diesel, and gas cylinders, blaming external tensions. Meanwhile, common people bear the brunt of these hikes without relief. Government is creating vote bank in Mhaje Ghar Yojana and other government schemes to be a winner by playing a mind game. Amidst this, social activists of South Goa”Pratima and Fildoll”fearlessly fight for the rights of Goans, exposing harsh realities ignored by many. Those who are struggling for Congress party ticket, will they be able to save and protect Goa? What is the point of elections if MLAs and ministers only drain our pockets through taxes while enjoying luxurious lives? It is time for citizens to demand honesty and true service from their representatives.
