I would like to draw  attention of the  Chief Engineer of  Goa State  Electricity Department  supply   to the frequent power supply breakdowns occurring in Calangute Village. The main reason for these interruptions appears to be the overloading of transformers beyond their prescribed capacity. With the rapid increase in population, commercial establishments, hotels, and tourism-related activities in the village, the demand for electricity has increased considerably. However, the existing transformers are unable to handle the growing load efficiently, resulting in repeated power failures, voltage fluctuations, and inconvenience to residents, businesses, and visitors alike. These frequent disruptions not only affect daily life but also create difficulties for students, shopkeepers, and the tourism industry, which is an important part of the local economy. In view of the above, it is requested that the Chief Engineer of  Goa State  Electricity Department take immediate steps to upgrade and replace the overloaded transformers with higher-capacity units. This will help ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply and meet the increasing electricity demand in the area.
