Traffic police booths play an important role in assuring relief to the traffic cops deputed for duty at various strategic locations. However there are instances wherein some of the booths have been found lying idle, with the concerned cops occupying the roadside for controlling vehicular traffic.
One such instance is the booth existing at the junction in the vicinity of Shree Vithoba temple at Upper Bazaar in Ponda. During recent years the same has been lying idle at this location.
The same can be very well shifted near Shree Saraswati temple at Daag in Ponda where a cop has been deputed for controlling traffic at this area.
Presently he has been standing in open area. Such a positive step would not only assure relief to the said cop during heavy rains, but will also put the booth to good use.
Let us hope that the higher officials at the police department in Ponda would take a note of this valuable suggestion and initiate immediate favourable action in this direction.
