Welcome new DGP Shukla and his plans for the State

This is with regards to the report "Making Goa safe for tourists top priority: DGP Shukla" (The Goan Everyday, November 24, 2021).The new Goa Director General of Police I D Shukla ji won hearts in his first press conference after assuming charge. He spoke in Goan Konkani. He praised our language. He called our mother tongue a beautiful language. It brought unprecedented joy and also tears to eyes. What a straight from heart PR exercise! Full marks to our new DGP I D Shukla ji.

That said, Goa DGP Shukla ji mentioned one of the most important challenges that Goans are facing right now. The issue of haphazard parking and resultant traffic jams. It seems that DGP has got some interesting plans to solve the issue of recurrent traffic jams that will also benefit our environment.Good beginning wins you half the battle. Goa DGP Shukla ji comes across as an upright officer who believes in serving the common men and women and making their lives better. Looks like good days without traffic jams are round the corner of our beautiful Goa.
