The government has been building the Western Bypass by dumping mud in low lying fields and filling up natural water bodies in Seraulim and Benaulim. With the very first heavy rain of the season the fields at Mungul have been flooded and rainwater is flowing on the Colva-Margao road causing lot of inconvenience for pedestrians and vehicular traffic alike.
We have been told time and again that this constitutes 'vikas' aka 'progress'. If this is the state of affairs when the bypass is not even half complete then I shudder to think what the case will be when the project is completed. We absolutely don't require such 'vikas' in Goa.
