A growing scam in Goa involves fake education and industry experience certificates. These certificates are issued by agents claiming them to be genuine, with alleged links to the education department, hotel industry, diploma offices, and other sectors. Prices range from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh, depending on the requirement. Those paying more get their names registered in official records, while others receive entirely fake documents.
These fake certificates allow unqualified individuals to secure jobs abroad and in government offices. Some even claim qualifications from institutions they’ve never attended. This practice denies genuine, hardworking candidates opportunities, leaving them jobless.
Corruption and greed have worsened the system, with unskilled employees slowing processes in government offices. The lack of verification for certificates before hiring fuels inefficiency, forcing citizens to endure delays, repeated visits, and unnecessary expenses. Strict verification measures are essential to address this issue and restore fairness.
