Why Goans said ‘no’ to Kamasutra event

‘Tales of Kamasutra’ refers either to a 2000 erotic film or to the recent controversial festival in Goa that was cancelled after public backlash. Goa is a tourism destination, not a sex destination, and such an event has no place here ” especially when linked with Christmas, the birthday of Jesus Christ. I do not understand why this group is trying to damage Goa’s image and hurt the sentiments of the Christian community.

Kamasutra and Christmas have no connection, and those promoting this event clearly do not understand the true meaning of the festival. The Goa Police, Chief Minister Sawant and leaders of the Catholic community should strongly oppose such events. They only aim to disturb the peace and harmony we share for their own gain.

We Goans will never approve such an event in our State. We have our own culture and festivals, which we celebrate with pride. If anyone wants to hold a Kamasutra event, they should do so in their own state or in their own homes, not in someone else’s place. Enough is enough.
