After sweeping assembly election by Congress with 136 seats the party is yet to decide on the Chief Minister. The elections results were declared on May 13. The high command who always decides on the CM's post has put ball in Mallikarjun Kharge's court. The two leaders DK Shivkumar and Siddaramaiah are both strong in their position. DK Shivkumar, 61, has brought back the party to winning ways since 2019 and Siddaramaiah, 71, who has been CM earlier has support of most MLAs . Such situation was also seen in Rajasthan when Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot were in fray for CM's post. Congress should have declared their CM's face before elections so that there was no confusion later. The same situation we saw in Goa too when inspite of getting the required seats to form government the Cong failed to be in power due to CM's post issue. Let's wait and watch and hope the party stays united.
