Will State govt act on the jobs-for-cash allegations?

The main accused in the cash-for-jobs scam, Pooja Naik, has told the media that Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, IAS officer Nikhil Desai, and PWD Principal Chief Engineer Uttam Parsekar were involved in irregularities. This raises a direct question: will CM Pramod Sawant remove Dhavalikar from his post or allow him to continue despite these serious allegations? Naik has also claimed that she was called to the Crime Branch office almost every day, made to sit for long hours without any valid reason, and that no proper investigation was carried out by the officers there. She says she was harassed instead of being given a fair chance to present her side. These claims raise strong doubts about the way the case is being handled. It now appears that the CM may be protecting those named in the case by allowing the CB ” which works directly under him ” to lead the investigation. If he genuinely wants to uncover the truth, he should appoint a Judicial Commission of Inquiry headed by a retired High Court judge. Only an independent and neutral probe can bring out the full facts and ensure that the case is not quietly closed to protect the government’s image.
