People of Cavorim and Guirdolim villages in Chandor were happy when Chief Minister announced that the railway under bridge work would start soon and be done within two months. However, after laying the foundation stone, the work was stopped. The reason: Covid-19 lockdown. But despite the Coivd-19 restrictions, the railways completed most of the double-tracking project in the state. Then, again, the CM, MLA Clafacio Dias and Railway authorities promised it would be completed by mid-May 2021. But no sign again. The concrete road passing under the bridge is not complete and the work is pending. The people will suffer again in the rains near the Chandor railway crossing gate. We are just being given dates on completion of the work like the way it happens in court. The Village Panchayat office of Guirdolim also has no answer when the work will be completed. We request the government and the Railways to complete this under bridge on priority, as we have been suffering for the past 40 years.
