The foldable iPhone was launched in India on September18 . Long queues started building up the previous evening in Metro cities. The shutters were raised at 10 am. Frenzied crowds purchasing the iPhones, starting @ Rs 1,80,000, gave one the false impression that India is a rich country. Not so. The top 10% of our country is rich. The top 5% is very rich and top 1% , uber rich. Now 10% is more than the population of any country in Europe, including Russia. So our rich people are richer than entire countries . Thus we are made to believe that we are a rich nation. What about the remaining 90%? The bottom 60% are so poor that they get free rations. And in between is the 30% middle class struggling to make ends meet.
