I would like to suggest the introduction of real-time medicine availability boards in all government hospitals and pharmacies across Goa. Displaying a live list of medicines that are available or out of stock would help patients know what is currently unavailable before they wait in long queues at hospital pharmacies. The Goa health system and its digital portals should move towards real-time inventory updates, clearly showing the availability of essential medicines for public information and convenience. Hospitals could be encouraged or mandated to install digital screens or physical notice boards displaying the current stock status of medicines. At present, when essential medicines are unavailable, hospital pharmacists often direct patients to purchase them from private pharmacies or Jan Aushadhi stores. Timely information about stock levels would allow patients to make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary visits. Such a system would save patients' time, improve transparency in public healthcare, and help hospital administrators identify shortages and arrange supplies or reallocate medicines from available warehouses more efficiently. I request the concerned authorities to consider implementing this facility across government hospitals in Goa for the benefit of patients and the public.
