We citizens of Goa have raised the issue of strays infesting every location in Goa be it the beaches, restaurants, roads, paddy fields, street corners, clinics, why even the GMC hospital and Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. No one in the panchayats, the municipalities or the government seems to care. 19,368 cases of dog bite were reported across Goa last year, 2026 seems to be worse. All we get to hear are 'strict measures will be taken' but nothing changes on the ground. Why can't we cull the canine population as they do in developed countries, that is the only solution. Bleeding hearts and NGOs also present no solution , they only make the right noises about sterilization, neutering etc. Garbage and strays are the two biggest problems confronting the State, Goa is losing tourists too because of the dog menace. When will the authorities wake up ?
