I had AI on my aircraft some 17 years ago. Emergency situations call for emergency measures. So I decided to share it (AI) with all. If used well, I realized it had the potential to transform and simplify things. Today, people are fighting over Konkani language. All the best books and publications are in languages other than Konkani. If someone doubts this how much volume of sales do Konkani publications generate? All the major scientific discoveries have happened in Western nations. They invest heavily in research, science and technology. So while the Nobel Prize for AI could have gone to us. It had to go instead to a Western nation. The dangers of AI are also very real. We had an English lesson in eleventh or twelfth standard Science stream about when machines take over the world. On one occasion, I remember, the AI software in my aircraft developed a mind of its own. It began to fly me home. Luckily, I realised what was going on and was able to disengage from the software. People may ask, What's wrong with that ? Well, not to my home, but to its home.
