Ex-RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan has debunked the government's claimed 7.8% GDP growth, he raises 7 relevant questions over the economic numbers. If India is growing so fast, why aren't more good jobs being created? Why is private investment not picking up at the expected pace? Why are Indian industrialists reluctant to make larger investments? Why is foreign direct investment (FDI) not coming into India in a much bigger way? Is India doing enough to create good jobs for the young people entering the workforce? Is India doing enough to remain at the forefront of the sectors where it already has a presence? If enough jobs are not created, could India lose the benefit of its demographic dividend? It is very obvious that data is being fudged/ manipulated to show the government in a good light.
