I am writing to express my frustration over the constant, unnecessary topics and actions taken up by members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly. The latest example is the debate around "Vande Mataram". Before this, it was “70 years of this”, “past governments did that”, “he said this, she said that”. We (citizens) are no longer interested in speeches, blame games or mudslinging. What we genuinely want is a progress report on administration and governance. We want: Good infrastructure (roads, transport, public services that work), Clean air, water and safe food, A decent quality of life (where an average person can afford to live with dignity), No one should sleep hungry or without shelter in extreme weather, where the sick get fair and timely treatment, a society free of hatred and where crime is controlled And we are not asking for these things for free. We pay taxes (both direct and indirect) to fund this governance. Therefore, I urge all political parties to stop the nonsense. Come to the public with a report card of past commitments and then make new ones. That is the only debate citizens care about today.
