New Ujjwala scheme a welcome relief

The Goa government’s new Ujjwala scheme, under which financial assistance up to the cost of three LPG cylinders per year will be provided for eligible households, has come not a day too soon and will help bring financial relief to thousands of families in Goa, presently reeling under exorbitant fuel prices. Better late than never. Undoubtedly, the scheme has been well planned to kill two birds with one stone, as it not only fulfils the government’s earlier poll commitment in 2022, but will also prove to be a sop for the forthcoming 2027 Assembly polls. We hope to see some more relief schemes in the coming days.
