A political march is only as good as the footsteps that follow it ('Beyond the ‘yatra’, Cong’s real test yet to unfold', October 21). It is easy to gather a massive crowd when the air is filled with slogans and excitement. But the true test of a party begins when the music stops. The toughest challenge is not gaining attention, but managing the ambitions of those who helped create it. When hundreds of hopefuls want a single ticket, the stage is set for bitter internal battles. The Congress must remember that a grand procession cannot mask the cracks of infighting forever. To turn this fleeting momentum into lasting public trust, the party must focus on transparent ticket distribution and genuine grassroots teamwork. Crowds may be temporary, but the damage from internal sabotage lasts much longer.
