Time and again we have been hearing such statements from the Congress party, and it is therefore high time that the party realises that it cannot afford to go it alone in the forthcoming 2027 Assembly polls in Goa, going by its dismal performance in recent years. The same applies to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Goa Forward Party (GFP). Secondly, if, according to Girish Chodankar, the people of Goa have given the Congress party the mandate to take the lead in uniting the Opposition, then as State Congress president, who has been re-elected to the post, Chodankar has a greater responsibility to forge a united Opposition to dislodge the incumbent BJP in the next elections. It is hoped that a better sense of give and take also prevails in the party as well as in the AAP and GFP, to achieve their goal.
