The Portuguese Consulate, Fundação Oriente and the Camões Institute, which have a substantial presence in Goa, should coordinate and organise more interactions between Portugal and Goa to strengthen ties that span more than 450 years. The Portuguese language, with its distinctive grammar and old-world charm, should be a key focus. Kindergartens and primary schools could introduce Portuguese to children, while a Centre of Portuguese Language Excellence could be established with participation from leading institutions in Portugal. This would provide students with opportunities to develop advanced language skills. Portuguese music could also be promoted through cultural exchanges and visiting musical groups. Similarly, more Portuguese tourists should be encouraged to spend their holidays in Goa, further enriching cultural exchanges. Student exchanges and scholarships could support postgraduate and doctoral research into the shared history and relationship between Goa and Portugal. It is worth recalling that celebrated Portuguese poet Luís de Camões, author of Os Lusíadas, spent considerable time in Goa. Portuguese cuisine could also be showcased more widely in Goa, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to experience its rich culinary traditions.
