Aziz Ansari says that he’s Donald Trump’s favourite comedian. He’s kidding. Donald Trump is Donald Trump’s favourite comedian, although he won’t admit it out loud in public. A day after the inaugural ceremony and on the day of the women’s march, a brown Asian man hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time in their history and made fun of their president. Yep, Ansari dedicated his entire opening monologue to talking about the impact that the Donald has had on the country and on certain groups in particular, as Ansari calls them, the lowercase kkk. Ansari, whose parents moved to America from India in the early 1980s, says he’s not going anywhere, despite people telling him and his fellow Asians to go back to where they came from. He makes fun of George Bush, while praising him incidentally. He makes fun of everything that Trump and the people who feel empowered to act racist in America do. He asks them to go back to pretending that they aren’t racist. There are a lot of great jokes in this monologue, and the funny part is, that they are all actually just observations and opinions about the current state of affairs in India. Forget Trump, Aziz Ansari just became our favourite comedian. Watch the SNL monologue by copying the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KMzE66WA-o or just scan the QR code
