The young and the old, women and children participated in the program with enthusiasm as the village was divided into seven groups, with each group attired in seven colours, red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple and white.
The program commenced with a brass band performance around noon. A number of traditional Goan dishes including the pattoleos, toddy and other traditional food was prepared by the local groups on the occasion.
Village Parish Priest Fr Saude Pereira, said the main objective behind organizing the Carmona Ekvottacho Dis is to forge unit and brotherhood amongst the villagers and to showcase the Goa's rich culture and tradition. "Villagers will participate in the various activities as per the colour and group. The entire village is divided into seven groups, with each group representing one colour",
he said.
Fr Pereira said the seven different groups and colours depict the true Goan culture and tradition and the need to preserve it for the future generations."The program conveys a message to the village to live in the spirit of brotherhoold and unity", he added.
Carmona's unique Ekvottacho Dis
